[Current version of WinGate VPN is 2.5.1 - released December 22, 2008]
WinGate VPN Compatibility
WinGate VPN can be deployed on virtually any network, regardless of operating systems, IP based protocols in use, or Internet connection type.
Complete protocol support in WinGate VPN allows the private network to support routing of any IP-based protocols including, TCP, UDP, ICMP and GRE. With NAT Traversal support, private networks can even be established across NAT-based connections. A remote client, with an IP address being translated by a NAT, can connect to, and utilize, all resources on the VPN. The WinGate VPN dialer allows administrators to set up multiple phonebook entries (or profiles), thus supporting several dial-up accounts and restricting access to each one. Different nodes of the VPN can then be setup to use unique dial-up accounts, reducing the overall bandwidth demand on each account and allowing administrators the ability to better monitor each account. Able to operate on Windows 95, Windows 98/ME, Windows NT (with Service Pack 4 or higher), Windows 2000 Pro/Server/Advanced, and Windows XP Home and Professional, WinGate VPN requires no additional investment in hardware or specialized software to run. |
